Montosa Cigars
Montosa is made by Arnold André at Arnold André Dominicana in the Dominican Republic and distributed in the United States by United Cigars. We carry both wrappers, Natural and Maduro, online and in our Yuma walk-in humidor. Online, the Natural comes in five sizes, from the 3 7/8 x 54 Short Robusto to the 6 x 60 Gigante, and the Maduro in four, from the Short Robusto to the 6 3/4 x 50 Churchill. Every size is offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 20.

Arnold André and Montosa
Arnold André is based in Bünde, Germany, and traces its roots to Gebr. André, a tobacco factory founded in Osnabrück in 1817. In 2011 it opened its own factory in the Dominican Republic; Arnold André says Arnold André Dominicana makes all of its long-filler brands, Montosa among them, and describes Montosa as hand-rolled cigars from the Dominican Republic. United's release says the tobaccos come from the Cibao Valley.
United began distributing Arnold André in the United States in January 2022, launching Montosa and Terra Nova at the TPE trade show, and added a 6 x 60 Gigante in both wrappers at the PCA trade show in April 2025; the Gigante we list online is the Natural. The cigars come 20 to a lift-lid box with MONTOSA in gold script: orange for the Natural, green for the Maduro.

United's 2025 release pairs an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper with a Mexican binder and Dominican Piloto, Dominican Criollo and Indonesian filler; the 2022 launch details named the binder Mexican San Andrés and the Indonesian leaf Java. The 2025 release calls the Natural “a mild-bodied cigar,” with light pepper on the retrohale and a subtle spice finish; the 2022 launch description called it mild to medium.

The Maduro wears a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Brazilian binder, with Dominican, Brazilian and Nicaraguan filler; the 2022 launch details named the binder Bahia Sumatra, a Brazilian-grown Sumatra-seed leaf. United's 2025 release calls it “medium-bodied” with “full flavor,” and notes that The Cigar Authority, a retailer, named Montosa Maduro its 2022 Cigar of the Year.
