From Firecracker to Independence
Independence began as the Independence Day Firecracker, a limited 3 1/2 x 50 with a fuse that Arnold André made for United for the 250th anniversary of the United States, shipped in 12-count collectible tins in June 2026. In July 2026 United made the blend a permanent line in two sizes without the fuse. “Why mess with success?” said Oliver Nivaud of United.
The wrapper is Mexican Habano over a Dominican binder, with Dominican and Nicaraguan filler; our distributor lists the filler as Dominican and Nicaraguan ligero with Piloto Cubano seco. Each size comes 12 to a collectible metal tin that can be used as an ashtray, halfwheel reported.
