Oliva introduced Connecticut Reserve in February 2009 as the Oliva Connecticut Wrapper Reserve: Nicaraguan long filler and binder under an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Cigar Aficionado reported that the filler leaves out ligero in favor of the lighter viso and seco leaves, and Oliva describes a mellow, medium-bodied cigar for any time of day, smooth and silky with subtle notes of wood. Cigar Aficionado scored the Toro 88 points in February 2024 and rated it mild to medium.
