Fuente created the 8-5-8 in 1975 in memory of founder Arturo Fuente, who died in 1973 at the age of 85, and it belongs to Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva, the series Fuente calls the flagship of its brand. How each wrapper smokes
Candela: Cigar Aficionado rated it mild in October 2022, grassy as the green wrapper suggests, with pine, wood and a nut-and-honey sweetness. Cigar Coop's March 2011 review found cream and wood, then a sugary sweetness with a hint of cedar spice.
Natural: roasted chestnut and bittersweet chocolate in Cigar Aficionado's April 2015 tasting, mild to medium.
Maduro: cinnamon, cocoa and toasted almond, mild to medium, in the magazine's October 2007 tasting.
Sun Grown: hickory, red wine and a cocoa-powder sweetness; Cigar Aficionado scored it 92 in December 2011 and listed it among its best bargain cigars of 2011.
Rosado Sun Grown: the rarer one. It was first released in 2002, just 87 boxes of 50 sent to 29 retailers, then again in 2009 and 2018 (halfwheel). Reviewing the 2018 release, halfwheel found aged cedar with hay, espresso bean, cocoa nib and a hint of gingerbread, and a perfumed floral retrohale.

What to pour with an 8-5-8
We found no pairing from Fuente for the 8-5-8, so these are our house suggestions, drawn from our pairing guides:
