Caravedo Acholado Pisco
Caravedo Acholado Pisco comes from Destilería La Caravedo in Peru's Ica Valley, founded in 1684 and described as one of the oldest operating distilleries in the Americas. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
This acholado blends Quebranta and Torontel grapes. The spirit is single-distilled directly to proof in copper pot and falca stills, with no water added, then rested for at least nine months, with no additives.
Apple, lemongrass, golden raisin and honeysuckle fill the nose, edged with white pepper. The palate is very dry, with citrus, minerality, pear, guava and papaya, and the finish lingers on citrus, pepper and delicate florals.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
