Cointreau

Cointreau is an orange liqueur from Angers, France, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The house, founded by Édouard Cointreau and carrying more than 170 years of history, regards it as a category of its own, distinct from generic triple sec.

Its character comes from a blend of dried sweet and bitter orange peels with fresh sweet orange peels. Beyond the peel, the only other ingredients are water, sugar and neutral alcohol, with no artificial flavors. The nose is zesty and fresh, floral and gently sweet; the palate delivers intense orange with a fresh, lingering quality.
