Cointreau Noir
Cointreau Noir brings two French names together in one glass: a blend of 79% Cointreau L'Unique and 21% Rémy Martin Cognac, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The result is an orange liqueur given the depth of cognac.
It revives Cointreau Majestic, created in 1903 by Édouard Cointreau, a recipe rediscovered in 2008 by Master Distiller Bernadette Langlais. Citrus zest rises first, with subtle oak and vanilla. The palate is intense orange layered with honey, toffee, gingerbread and madeleine, and the finish is warm, with a hint of spice.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
