Disaronno Amaretto
Disaronno Amaretto is Disaronno Originale, the amaretto liqueur of ILLVA Saronno in the Italian town of Saronno. It is bottled at 28% ABV (56 proof).
Its story reaches back to 1525 when, as the tale is told, a Saronno innkeeper presented the painter Bernardino Luini with a flask of amber liqueur. Giovanni Reina later rediscovered the recipe, and in the early 1900s Domenico Reina opened a shop and workshop in the town. ILLVA Saronno was founded in 1947.
In the glass it is sweet and expressive, with notes of marzipan and almond cake.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (1 L). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
