Kahlúa
Kahlúa is a rum and coffee liqueur from Veracruz, Mexico. The expression here is Kahlúa Original, first created in Mexico in 1936 and bottled at 20% ABV (40 proof).
Its foundation is simple and deliberate: 100% Arabica coffee beans and rum. On the palate, black coffee leads, followed by vanilla, chocolate, sweet butter and a touch of spice. Because it is made with coffee, it carries a small amount of caffeine, about 5 mg per 1.5 oz serving.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (1 L). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
