Yellow Chartreuse
Yellow Chartreuse is a French herbal liqueur made by the Carthusian Monks. It was created in 1840, taking its inspiration from the recipe of the Elixir Végétal.
A composition of 130 plants, barks, roots, spices and flowers lies behind it, and the liqueur is aged for a long time in truncated cone-shaped oak vats before bottling. The nose is fresh and spicy. On the palate, turmeric meets citrus and anise in a soft, gentle register, and the finish carries lingering floral notes.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
