A broadleaf grown in Honduras
Broadleaf is a sun-grown, thick and dark leaf, the same type as the Connecticut Broadleaf used for many maduro wrappers; Camacho's is grown in Honduras, which Cigar Coop called a first for the brand. The 2023 launch announcement called the profile rugged and unapologetic, listed leather and oak in the aroma, and added espresso, creamy sweetness and earthy spices to the coffee and dark chocolate. halfwheel reported three sizes at launch, each in boxes of 20: a 5 x 50 Robusto, the 6 x 50 Toro and the 6 x 60 Gordo. Camacho traces to 1961, when Simon Camacho opened a cigar factory in Miami. Davidoff has owned the brand since 2008, and since 2017 most of the portfolio has been made at Diadema Cigars de Honduras in Danlí. Every Camacho line we stock is compared on our Camacho Cigars page.

Ratings and tasting notes
Toro, 6 x 50: Cigar Insider scored it 91 in January 2024, a score Cigar Aficionado repeated that April, rating it medium: an array of dried fruit such as raisin, fig and cherry, mingling with touches of earth and caramel. Cigar Coop scored it 88 in June 2024, finding coffee, cedar, damp earth, dry wood, chocolate and pepper, with strength moving from medium to medium-full. halfwheel scored it 83 in October 2023, with black pepper, dry wood, light earth and some creaminess.
Gordo, 6 x 60: Cigar Insider scored it 86 in January 2024 and rated it medium to full. A 60 ring holds more filler and smokes slowly.

Start with the Toro, the higher-rated of the two and the size Cigar Coop and halfwheel reviewed. Choose the Gordo for a slower smoke at the same length and a wider ring; Cigar Insider rated the Gordo medium to full, where Cigar Aficionado rated the Toro medium.
