Opus X Angel's Share is the milder Fuente Fuente OpusX. Arturo Fuente makes it at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in Santiago, Dominican Republic, as a Dominican puro. Standard OpusX uses wrapper from the top priming of the plant; Angel's Share uses leaf from the middle priming, which Carlos Fuente Jr. believes holds most of the heart and flavor. Cigar Aficionado described that leaf as light tan and the cigar as a milder version of OpusX: balanced, elegant and slightly sweet, with less red pepper than the original.

About Fuente Fuente OpusX Angel's Share Cigars
Arturo Fuente explains the name through winemaking: the angel's share is the wine that evaporates from an oak barrel as it ages, said to be sampled and blessed by guardian angels. The company says the cigar was inspired by a fire that destroyed tobacco the family had been aging since the late 1940s and 1950s and saving for its 100th anniversary. Angel's Share first went out in 2012, Fuente's centennial year, in limited-edition Prometheus humidors, as Cigar Aficionado reported in August 2012; Cigar Coop puts the release in 2013.
Cigar Aficionado named the Angel's Share Reserva d'Chateau No. 9 of its Top 25 cigars of 2025, at 95 points, and Cigar Insider rated the Robusto 93 in September 2024. Like every OpusX, Angel's Share is allocated: Arturo Fuente decides how many boxes each authorized retailer receives. Cigar Aficionado ranked the Angel's Share Reserva d'Chateau No. 9 of its Top 25 for 2025 at 95 points and rated it medium in strength. The magazine found licorice, wood and baking spices with touches of leather, and "a charming intonation of honey flecked with red pepper flakes." We list it as a tin of three. halfwheel reported three-count Angel's Share tins at the 2019 IPCPR trade show, in the Robusto, PerfecXion X and Reserva d'Chateau sizes; the 1992 printed on the tin marks the year Fuente started the original OpusX project, not the age of the cigars.

Slowly. A medium-bodied cigar rewards an unhurried pace, roughly a puff a minute, because rapid puffing heats the smoke and flattens lighter notes such as the honey and baking spice Cigar Aficionado found in the Reserva d'Chateau.
