El Tigre is the first Undercrown to lead with Dominican filler, in Drew Estate's words: Dominican HVA and C-98 filler, a binder of the Connecticut Corojo H99 hybrid and an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua. Drew Estate rates it medium to full and describes it as "Refined and expressive; silky spice, white pepper, roasted espresso, earth." Cigar Insider scored the Robusto 92. Why "El Tigre"
Cigar Coop explains the name as a Dominican term for someone who writes their own rules, and notes that the Connecticut Corojo binder ties the cigar to Liga Privada H99. Before its debut, El Tigre reached early smokers under the code name "Fire" in Drew Estate's first Early Access pack. Cigar Coop compared the soft press to a Cuban-style trunk press. In April 2026 Drew Estate also announced Drew Dominicana, its own factory and farm in the Dominican Republic, and plans to move its Dominican blends there eventually; El Tigre is rolled in Estelí.
Undercrown began on Drew Estate's own factory floor: when demand for Liga Privada grew, Drew Estate asked its rollers to stop smoking it, and the rollers blended their own cigar from many of the same tobaccos. Cigar Aficionado says Undercrown was released in the fall of 2011. Drew Estate calls it "The People's Smoke," and the upside-down crown on the band stands for its workers' "noble humility." Robusto, 5 x 50: Cigar Insider scored it 92 in June 2026 and rated it medium-full, and Cigar Aficionado scored it 92 in October 2026.
Toro, 6 x 50: halfwheel scored it 86 in July 2026: pepper, pretzel bun and earth, then creaminess, mixed nuts and a campfire smokiness past the middle, with strength building from mild to medium. Cigar Coop scored it 87 in September 2026 and rated it medium, finding natural tobacco and fruit sweetness early over mineral, earth, baker's spice and black pepper.
Corona Viva, 5¾ x 46: we found no rating yet; the slimmest El Tigre we carry, so the Sumatra wrapper carries more of each puff.
