The Cuesta-Rey Centenario Robusto No. 7 Maduro is the 4½ x 50 Centenario robusto in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, over Dominican binder and filler aged up to five years in a cedar room. It is rolled for J.C. Newman at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic.
Cuesta-Rey dates to 1884, when Angel LaMadrid Cuesta founded the brand; Peregrino Rey joined him a few years later, and Cuesta-Rey was once the official cigar of King Alfonso XIII of Spain. J.C. Newman has owned the brand since 1958, and the Centenario box still reads "Gold Medal Awarded, Panama-Pacific Exposition 1915."
